Stefano is responsible for RigPro globally and he joined RigPro mid-2017. Previously Stefano developed the largest international superyacht survey and technical consultancy practice. Stefano is a multifaceted superyacht and maritime professional with almost 20 years’ experience in management, business development, strategy, marketing and sales, project management and design/engineering consulting complemented by technical and business qualifications (CEng and MBA). An effective Business Manager and Leader having identified business opportunities and developed them from strategic planning to sales. A proficient Senior Consultant/Project Manager having delivered outstanding results on several multimillion projects, achieving optimal solutions for client and employer. Stefano speaks English, Italian and Spanish.

Global Repair, Upgrade and Modifications Enquiries

Steve moved from New Zealand to become the first member of RigPro Palma in the beginning of 2017. He has almost 20 years of mast and boom design experience with both Southern Spars and Marten Spars. As a qualified engineer he was formerly responsible for Southern Spars boom engineering and assisting to manage the engineering team, he has been involved in the design of hundreds of rigs. Steve has extensive experience in the construction of composites, as well as mechanical and hydraulic systems. He has a passion for sailing with extensive racing experience to a national title level in New Zealand. Steve can advise on all engineering aspects including damage repair, NDT and upgrades.

Hamish joined RigPro in 2018 but he had a long standing working relationship with RigPro. He has more than 10 years of experience in rigging services and projects including commissioning of new rigs, warranty repairs, emergency damage repairs and service maintenance. Hamish consistently provided outstanding service to customers, developing its excellent reputation in the rigging service sector.

Andrew joined RigPro in 2018, he is a highly skilled design engineer with six years of experience in rig and rigging design engineering. Before joining RigPro Andrew was the lead rig designer in Southern Spars Cape Town. He is proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks and he is also an avid sailor

David Bastos

Assistant Project Manager David joined RigPro Palma on 2019 to help with the management of projects. He is a naval architect and marine engineer, and he has experience on the yacht industry. Prior to joining RigPro, he worked as project manager in Palma for a yacht repair and refit yard. He speaks Spanish and English.

Anais joined RigPro in mid-2019, first working for the Valencia office as an administrative assistant and later on joining RigPro Palma as Project Administrator. She has a background in office administration in different fields and organizations in Venezuela, the US and Spain, including healthcare facilities, academic institutions and the tourism industry. Anais speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese and is highly oriented to teamwork and collaboration, working closely with the Project Managers and the finance team to facilitate customer support and satisfaction

Phip Hallowell has thirty-five years in the rigging business and counting. He started cruising and racing on his parents One Tonner as a youth, which led him to full time rigging and racing. He has participated in fourteen Bermuda Races, three Trans Atlantic races, 50 Foot and TP52 circuits, with a few Mt. Gays along the way. He is presently winding down in the VXOne design.

Phil joined RigPro US in 2017. Phil has worked for Hall Spars for over 20 years as rigs and hardware designer. Phil now provides service design engineering support for all Hall Spars products including repair, refit, upgrade and modifications of existing Hall Spars products. A life-long passion for sailing has led Phil to a career spanning over 40 years of engineering experience in the design and manufacture of spars and hardware for Kenyon Marine, IMI Kenyon/Sparcraft, and Hall Spars. Phil is a qualified engineer with a BSc in Civil Engineering.

Brian Fisher started in the rigging business in 1997 at Aramid Rigging, which eventually became RigPro. Although he has done his share of rope splicing, he now concentrates on sales, project management and managing the rigging shop. Brian gained much of his practical knowledge during ten years of pro sailing on notable programs from Farr 40s to Maxis. These days he can be found racing his Laser and WASZP.

Cara Read grew up living on her family’s cruising sailboat. She has raced J35’s and J24’s and enjoys cruising with her family on their J40. After college she worked at Navtec and Lewmar, before joining the Hall Spars team for the next 25 years. Cara joined Rig Pro US in 2017 as a Project Manager and Customer Service Agent.

Nigel joined RigPro in 2006 He has over 30 years of experience in the yachting industry. Shortly after leaving school he worked on boats from 30 feet to 70 feet. He then worked at Southern Spars gaining an in-depth and extensive knowledge across all areas of production including components, spreaders, booms and mast assembly Nigel is responsible for refits of superyacht rigs and new builds, including complex carbon modifications and repairs. Nigel manages the RigPro NZ apprenticeship program and assists the next generation of young riggers to develop their full potential as professional riggers.

Ash joined RigPro in 2018. Previous to this he was working on superyachts in the refit yard of Orams Marine Services. He also worked on composite boat building projects during his school holidays. Prior to working life he spent 4 years cruising the Pacific and South East Asian regions with his family aboard their Young 50 covering 17000 nm of blue water sailing. Ash successfully completed the 1270nm Round the North Island 2 handed race in 2020. He actively races in multiple keel boat regattas on as many days as he can fit in.

Steve joined RigPro and Southern Spars in 2016. He has broad engineering knowledge and experience combined with a passion for sailing and strong customer focus. Steve has over 35 years’ experience in the yachting industry including construction of composite racing yachts and superyachts, shore support, repairs, refits, restorations of sailing yachts, motor yachts and commercial craft. He has extensive sailing experience including Ocean cruising in a low budget home-built yacht as well as racing & deliveries. He has a BEng in mechanical engineering and he is a RINA member.

Scotty joined RigPro in 2002. He has over 20 years of experience in the rigging service industry. He started his career working in a small rigging shop in Tauranga, New Zealand. After serving his apprenticeship he moved to Southern Rigging in Auckland which later became RigPro. Scotty is a very experienced sailor having sailed in a huge variety of yachts including the GC32 foiling catamaran, an ORMA 60 trimaran, grand prix maxis and superyachts.

Kristen Sneyd

Kristen joined RigPro in 2014. She has 30 years of experience in the GP racing yacht and superyacht industry. She has worked on an incredible six Americas Cup campaigns as well as a Whitbread round the world race, including Oracle Racing (2010 to 2013), BMW Oracle Racing (2003 to 2007) the winners of the Americas Cup; Team New Zealand (1994 to 2003) and the successful Tokio Whitbread Campaign (1992-1994).

Greg joined RigPro in 2019. He has a total of 30 years of multi-industry operations and Project management experience including; Marine Project management, Commercial Building construction, Lean Manufacturing and Value engineering. During his time in the commercial industry he was the Senior Project Manager for Tawera Group which completed multiple construction builds and fit outs for high end luxury apartments and commercial office and retail fit outs. For 4 years he was the Project Co-ordinator at Alloy Yachts during which time his responsibilities included the builds of two of the finest Dubois 44m Sloops, Imagine followed by the mighty Encore. He spent 16 years as a professional yachtsman on yachts as diverse as offshore racing catamarans to J Class yachts with mast and running rigging as his specialty and has over 120,000 nm of bluewater sailing experience.

Andrew joined RigPro in 2019 He has over 26 years of experience in the rigging and engineering industries. He has previously  owned his own stainless engineering company and has constructed multiple motor boats. He is a very experienced keelboat racer and has competed in everything from Elliot 5.9s  through to an Orma 60 Trimaran. He currently races aboard a TP52 out of Auckland. He has 30,000 nm of  bluewater cruising and racing experience under his belt.

Sam joined RigPro in 2016. He has over 17 years of experience in the rigging and boatbuilding industry. He is a qualified composite carbon boat builder and has built everything from boats to booms to Ferrari super cars through to helicopter blades. In his rigging career he has worked on everything from Foil assisted Welbourne DSS 36 construction through to the mast of the world’s largest superyacht sloop, Mirabella V . Sam has built stays and standing carbon rigging for multiple Americas Cup campaigns as well as for the TP52 circuit.

Trent joined RigPro in 2018. He has over 25 years experience in the marine trade working in everything from Shipwright to Rigger. Trent started working for Southern Spars in 2010 as a Project Manager. In 2014 he moved into the Sales Team specialising in the Fast 40 class. Trent is proficient in AutoCAD and has an excellent working knowledge of rig design and tuning. Before joining the NTG Mast Division, Trent was employed as a full time professional sailor and has raced in most of the major regattas around the world. In his youth, he raced skiffs including the International 14 and other sport boats before moving on to racing yachts. Trent regularly attends top level regattas on behalf of RigPro.

Gavin joined RigPro in 2020 He is a keen skiff sailor and is currently competing in the 49er skiff regattas. He trialled for the 49er Olympic team in 2020 but was pipped to the line by Burling and Tuke. Prior to that he owned a 29er dinghy and competed in international regattas. Gavin coaches sailing at  Pt Chevalier Yacht Club  and the  French Bay Yacht Club
